Introducing The New ElementQ

Emotions and Me made a few changes, as you may see! We have moved into a new space, where our business name, brand and visual identity better represents our growing community, expanding services and vision for our business. 

The ElementQ brand story 

Emotional Intelligence is part of our being, and is the element that allows us to connect and form meaningful relationships with others. 

ElementQ supports the development of emotional awareness and empowers individuals of all ages and genders with the tools to enhance their EQ and EQ of others.

The ElementQ brand represents both sides of emotional intelligence education and empowerment. It is based on connection and intuition and is also supported on a scientific level. The combination of holistic and scientific evidence is represented in the colours and style of the logo and the business name.

The ElementQ name has a few different layers. The name is “bookended” by the letters “E” and “Q,” which stands for “Emotional Intelligence” and are the pillars of the business (supports and holds it up). 

We are all made up of elements and emotions, and they all work together to form who we are and how we connect with others. Element is brought in because Emotional Intelligence education is the missing element that is vital to our well-being and interactions with others. We are taught how to use our bodies and our minds but not our emotions. ElementQ will build conservation and education around emotional intelligence and will legitimize it as a necessary learning in life, and is a key ingredient in our genetic makeup, as other periodic table elements. 

The visual representation of the EQ in the hexagon contributes to the balance of intuition, emotions, feelings and science. This visual was inspired by the periodic table of elements, which is where the hexagonal shape came from. The hexagon is also one of the strongest shapes and can tesselate perfectly (create a never-ending pattern with no gaps. The only other shapes that can do this are triangles and squares). Strength and empowerment is necessary to teaching and learning EQ. Learning emotional awareness requires courage and confidence. To encourage it, there needs to be confidence and strength behind the brand voice and content, to empower people to explore Emotional Intelligence and feel comfortable with it.  The hexagon represents a holistic approach by being enclosed and connected by each terminal ending in a circle. Connection is at the core of our being and Emotional Intelligence will help people form more meaningful connections.

ElementQ is professional yet approachable. Navy blue is a corporate colour and adds feelings of credibility. On an emotional level, the colour is calming and evokes feelings of trust. The teal is a more playful version of blue but falls under the same calming feeling. The lime-y yellow is high energy, eye catching and more playful, giving the ElementQ brand an approachable and fun feel. 

All the details of the ElementQ brand take into account the goals, vision and growth of the business as we expand our business offerings into public speaking, educational resources and eventually a line of merchandise.
